I retired about one year ago due to heart problems. Have had three surgurys since then and the cost keeps going uup. At the present time I am on SSI but some months the cost of medicine is more than I take in and have to beg Drs. for free samples. Recently I was just release from the hospital for a heart problem, but the drug they prescribe cost $400 for a one month supply. I have the drug , but the house we have has no heat, we ran out of propane,and we owe the propane company $400 and they said when we pay the bill they will deliver. My wife is 70+ and cold.

Myself, I don't need to be in the cold either but what choice do we have. With out propane, there is no hot water, no stove, no heat. being old doesn't help the situation either.

Hi

See what senior citzen centers you have around you as they provide a place for seniors to go when it is too cold and too hot.

Call 211 and ask for any resources you can use to stay warm at one of those places. Contact your local St.Vincent de Paul's here

And try modestneeds.org fill out the application and they can either say yes or no but worth a try for some money to turn the heat back on in your place..

Another one to try that a person I know is part of the organization  and supports it is microgiving.com. I get nothing from the place as I haven't tried to use it as haven't gotten my stolen license replaced yet and you need ID to apply there.. They might help you with the cost of propane
